The price tag never shows the total. Cany does.
Point Cany at the shelf labels as you shop. It reads each price right on your phone, keeps a running total, and warns you the instant you’re about to blow past your budget.

Budget’s healthy. P574.50 left.
You’re P328 below your usual Puregold trip. Grab what’s on your list.
Budget by department, not by guesswork.
Cany keeps six separate limits. A fancy pork belly won’t quietly eat your vegetables’ money anymore — each department caps itself.
Meat & Poultry
Fixed price tags or per-kilo. Pork belly, chicken, steaks, bangus — scanned and totaled.
Vegetables & Produce
Price per kilo times weight. Bitter gourd to bananas, computed right there in the produce section.
Beverages & Dairy
Milk, coffee, juices. Tracks the day’s drinks so you’re not paying for it all week.
Snacks & Treats
The impulse shelf. Cany flags the second a bag of chips threatens the essentials. Politely.
Household Essentials
Detergent, soap, paper towels. Keeps food and non-food spending in separate columns.
Others & General
The “just this once” shelf. Every scanned item finds a home, so nothing slips through.
Three steps. Then the total is just... known.
No manual list-keeping, no calculator app, no “let me just add this in my head.”
Set the limit
Tap in your trip budget before you grab a cart. Cany holds the line from the first scan.
Scan as you go
Hover over a shelf tag, tap. The price lands in the cart in about a tenth of a second — offline.
Watch it confirm
Every scan snaps into the cart with a checkmark and its price.
The honest comparison.
Cany vs. doing it in your head vs. the generic budget apps that need a login, a cloud, and a prayer.

What it actually does.
The short version, in the order you’ll meet it.
Instant offline OCR
Shelf tag goes in front of the camera, price comes out. Runs on-device via ML Kit, so it still works inside a basement supermarket.
Department budgets
Six caps with a donut chart on the dashboard, so it’s obvious at a glance where the money went before you check out.
Per-kilo calculator
Produce, seafood, and meat sold by weight: price per kilo × weight, computed and added straight to the cart.
Pre-shopping list
Type your list before leaving the house. Every scan checks an item off by name match — including leftovers you forgot to grab.
Store price trends
Save each trip with its store name — SM, Robinsons, Puregold, the wet market. Compare later which branch charges less for the same basket.
Local privacy, full stop
SQLite on your phone. No account, no registration, no uploads. If you delete the app, your data goes with it — and that’s the whole point.
Notes people have left us.
Names shortened so the neighbors won’t know who overspent. Kidding. Mostly.
Take it to the grocery. Even with no signal.
Android APK, free. No ads, no account, no “sign in to continue.” It runs inside the store where the signal doesn’t.
If you installed an earlier version, uninstall it first, then install this one.
